Real estate law support
Every step of the process has been designed to provide you with a smooth, reassuring experience, ensuring that your real estate project runs smoothly.
Before our first meeting
The first step is to confirm the person’s death.
This can be done by a doctor or other competent authority.
Once the death has been confirmed, it is important to organize the funeral in accordance with the wishes of the deceased and the law.
If the deceased had drawn up a will, it must be found.
The will will designate the heirs and the liquidator of the estate.
Next, it will be necessary to launch a will search to ensure that you are in possession of the last will and testament.
Once these searches have been launched, it is essential to obtain a death certificate, required by the various institutions.
At your first appointment
Once you’ve obtained the will search, the death certificate and the will, if applicable, you can obtain a legal consultation with your notary to fully understand the liquidator’s obligations and responsibilities, as well as the steps involved in the estate liquidation process.
At the last appointment
Liquidation of the estate: once the estate has been opened, the deceased’s assets must be valued and distributed in accordance with his or her wishes and the law in force.
Payment of debts and expenses: Before the assets are distributed, the deceased’s debts and estate expenses must be settled.
Transfer of assets to heirs: Once all the above steps have been completed, the assets of the estate can be transferred to the heirs in accordance with legal or testamentary provisions.
As your notary, we are here to support you every step of the way, ensuring that everything is done in accordance with the law and the wishes of the deceased.
